SUBARU e-BOXER

Subaru’s Advanced Power Unit System

SUBARU e-BOXER combines the dedicated 2.0-litre direct-injection SUBARU BOXER engine with an electric motor and adjusts the power-split ratio depending on driving conditions for quiet, smooth, efficient, and powerful driving. What’s more, it’s longitudinal layout along the vehicle’s centreline
complements the low centre of gravity engine and inherently well-balanced Symmetrical AWD for better front/rear vehicle weight distribution and improved driving stability.

SUBARU BOXER Engine
  • Max Output: 110 kW (150 PS) / 5,600 - 6,000 rpm
  • Max Torque: 194 Nm (19.8 kgfm) / 4,000 rpm

Motor
  • Max Output: 12.3 kW (16.7 PS)
  • Max Torque: 66 Nm (6.7 kgfm)

Taking off, light-load driving: EV Driving

Power is supplied only by the electric motor for quiet and fuel-efficient driving. EV driving activates in driving conditions in which engine driving is not efficient.*

Medium-load driving: Motor Assist Driving

Power is supplied by both the engine and electric motor for comfortable and smooth acceleration.

High-load driving: Engine Driving

At higher speeds where engine efficiency is good, the electric motor is stopped and power is supplied only from the engine for a sporty and powerful driving experience. If necessary, the motor is regenerated to recharge the battery.

Deceleration: Regeneration

The battery is efficiently recharged by regeneration during braking and deceleration.
